Join Us & Set Your Own Challenge
Whats your challenge?
Firefighter Alex O Shea will be running two marathons a day so why not come along and show your support plenty of miles to be shared.
Garda Ollie O Sullivan will attempt 50 km a day & we are hoping many more people will join in and take up their own challenge on what will be a difficult but truly amazing journey.
Run a little or a lot or simply come along and give us a bit of support.
Teachers there are great opportunities for schools to take part & follow the challenge engaging the pupils in Geography, Physical education and Charity. Maybe your school would like to do a project or even accomplish a marathon collectively & join the challenge. Schools active flag. A no Uniform day why not get in touch Alex Ollie and the team would love to hear from you.
Cant make it? No problem why not register to run an event when it suits you and help raise funds for the Irish Guide Dogs.
Register and together we can make a difference.
Will you join Alex and Ollie on route or start training to join the lads as they make their way around Ireland. It all kicks off in Co Kerry 1st of Sep with the intention of finishing back in Cork. Will you run a few miles in each of Irelands 4 Provinces, the challenges are endless. You set your goals and together we will help achieve them? For locations and start times please go to Routes & Times page and remember you can run a little or a lot. This page will be updated shortly. Go to the Register to Run page. Then run a little, or Run a lot, but be part of what will be an amazing challenge.
Tell us your personal challenge, what distance you will run and where? It does not have to be with Alex you can register, pick a distance and location of your own and challenge yourself. We understand not everyone will be able to particapate on our dates at our locations, so simply register and let us know what distance you will run were and when.
Remember this is a challenge and Alex will be running a marathon distances in parks and scenic routes as apposed to organising big events. The focus is raising awareness and fundraising for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind. Where possible Alex may run in pre-organised marathons like Dingle for e.g. and hopes to finish by running in his home county of Cork where he hopes as many people as possible will join him.
